Year in Review

The New Rochelle Humane Society staff, board of directors, volunteers, and
especially the animals wish to thank all who supported us this past year. Below, we have highlighted some of our most memorable moments of 2009, including special adoptions, community outreach and fun-filled events.

Hundreds of homeless animals pass through our shelter each year, and though all are very special to us, those who arrive in need of a little extra love and care hold a special place in our hearts. The staff and volunteers of the New Rochelle Humane Society lovingly work their magic each day, transforming these discarded animals into beautiful, healthy, well-mannered pets.

Each year, we at the New Rochelle Humane Society arrange several events to help raise funds and find new homes for the many homeless animals at our shelter. Staff and volunteers work together to plan and organize events such as our annual dog wash, puppy reunion and walk-a-thon! To read more about these events, click here!

Foster homes enable us at the New Rochelle Humane Society to not only save more animals, but provide the most needy with the extra attention and intimate care that is necessary for them to thrive. Over 100 animals were fostered by staff and volunteers throughout 2009. Click here to read a few of their stories.

This year, we at the New Rochelle Humane Society helped local communities spay and neuter two-hundred and sixty-five stray cats through our trap, neuter and return program. This program reduces the number of stray cats while increasing their quality of life. To learn more about our TNR program, click here.
