Get Involved: Volunteer
The New Rochelle Humane Society welcomes the help and services of volunteers 10 years and older. Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks. Time commitments can range from a few hours per week to as much time as you have available.
How to become a volunteer:
Step 1 - Complete the appropriate Volunteer Application. You can download an application below or pick one up at our shelter.
- Adult Volunteer Application (18 years and up)
- Junior Volunteer Application (14-17 years)
- Family Volunteer Application (Parent/legal guardian with children 10-13 years)
Step 2 - Submit your application to our shelter via mail, fax, or in person.
Step 3 - Attend a volunteer orientation (click here for upcoming dates). Please submit your application prior to the orientation so that we may contact you if there is a problem with your application or date/time of the orientation has changed.
*Note to Family Volunteers: The adult and child (age 10-13) can attend either the adult volunteer orientation or the junior volunteer orientation. If the adult wishes to walk dogs as part of their volunteer activities, he/she must also attend a green dot dog walking class. The child is welcome to attend the class, but he/she must never hold the leash while their parent/legal guardian is walking a dog.
